When throwing a poolside party, you want to serve foods that are easy to eat. The best way to achieve this is to pick recipes that don’t require silverware. You can create a versatile spread with just a few recipes. Below, you will find a few of the most traditional Cinco de Mayo recipes that are sure to delight your guests.
Guacamole is an easy recipe that can be served with tortilla chips for dipping. Peel 2 avocados and mash them together in a medium sized serving bowl. Then add 1 chopped onion, 1 minced clove of garlic, 1 chopped tomato, and one juiced lime. Stir ingredients together and let the guacamole chill for half an hour in the fridge to help blend the flavors together. Serve with tortilla chips.
Guacamole is not for everyone, but bulk up on tortilla chips for our next recipe. Nachos are another Cinco de Mayo favorite and is also easy to make. Brown one pound of ground beef and heat up 1 can of refried beans. Arrange nachos on a platter and place a layer of ground beef over the nachos. Add another layer of nachos, followed by the heated refriend beans. Next, add 2 cups of shredded cheese. You can add a variety of different ingredients in layers to continue stacking your nachos. Some popular ingredients include olives, guacamole, tomato, and seasonings. You could even add some ingredients to one side of the platter to offer your guests some options.
To wash down the tasty nachos and guacamole, you are going to need a refreshing beverage. The perfect choice is margaritas. For the children, you could make lemonade slushies. To make margaritas, you are going to need a blender. Fill the blender with crushed ice and then a can of frozen limeade concentrate. Add 6 ounces of tequila and 2 ounces of triple sec. Blend the ingredients until smooth. Line the margaritas with lemon salt and serve.
These are just a few ideas for spicing up your Cinco de Mayo party. While planning your party, spend some time looking at other recipes that you and your guests may enjoy. Whichever recipes you choose, remember that the most important part of Cinco de Mayo is having fun, so choose recipes that are easy to make so that you spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your guests.
