If you have a theme color for the season, try to get floating candles in the same hue, just to keep your decorating theme intact. Otherwise, candles in popular holiday colors or simple white can have equally dramatic results. If there are small children around, be sure you have a way to prevent them from having access to the candles.
• Set afloat light-weight plastic balls in elegant, festive colors in the pool. If there are holiday lights out as well then the surface of the sphere will shimmer and give off a magical effect.
